创作背景1968年年末，披头士放弃了现场表演两年多后，保罗·麦卡特尼渴望乐队重返舞台表演。当年的《White Album》录音环节已经看到队员间一些严重的争论，和续渐催向紧张的关系。麦卡特尼认为乐队因为多年没有作现场演奏，已失去凝聚力。这时麦卡特尼想起来母亲曾说过的一句话：“让一切都随其自然”，于是麦卡特尼开始构思这首歌曲。麦卡特尼母亲的名字叫玛丽，所以他用圣经中耶稣的母亲玛利亚来代指自己的母亲，于是诞生了“Mother Mary comes to me”这句歌词。1969年1月3日，披头士为了拍摄纪录片《顺其自然》，在特威克南电影制作室首次演唱了该首歌曲，该版本中只有保罗·麦卡特尼的钢琴声和歌声。同月31日，披头士在Apple工作室录制了正式版本。
